Welcome to My Old Victorian House

This old house has been my project for many years. It is now for sale. Please view new photos and details on it's new website. Click on http://www.victorian-house-for-sale.com. I am advertising this house myself, so if you know someone who might be interested, please give them this address. PLEASE, no house "flippers". I am seeking someone who loves the old houses as I do, not someone out to make a quick buck. So come on over, it looks a lot different today than in this 2002 photo.

The House is located at 616 9th St, Williams, CA. The corner of 9th and F. Directions HERE One block from downtown Williams and directly across the street from the Williams Central Park. 6 rooms downstairs, 3 bedrooms, living room, dining room and kitchen. One full bath and one toilet/sink washroom downstairs. The attic is one large room with a walk in closet and 3 dormers. The flood basement has a kennel for puppies, a wine cellar, and a workshop, all rough. There is a carport on the far right for 2 cars and room for 2 more for offstreet parking. Behind the house is an outside dog yard and a garden. When I'm not growing a vegetable garden, it becomes dog yard as well. I have chocolate labrador retrievers. I have a photo taken around the end of the century HERE. (Use your back button to return.)

Roommate/Room Rental Information

About myself, I'm 54, married but not living with my wife. I moved back in to my old Victorian and am rennovating/restoring it. It was a rental for the years I was living with my wife in Colusa. The last tenants trashed it totally. I am slowly fixing it back up to better than it ever was. I have one roommate renting the upstairs, a 30's lady with 2 daughters who visit on weekends occasionally

I have a room available, rent is $500, pets OK with deposit. See it here It's the southeast corner room, entrance from the front door of the house, but it is a semi private entrance, I don't use the front part of the house. Broadband in room (high speed, near 1M/sec). No phone in house. I use my cell. I have chocolate labrador retrievers, I don't allow excessive barking, living in town, but you will hear them from time to time.

The house has brand new central heat and air, modern plumbing and electrics, a new roof, new washer and dryer, new gas range/oven, new dishwasher and new carpet installed last week downstairs. The kitchen has no flooring yet, just new subfloor. I'm going to install oak flooring after I finish the painting. I have broadband high speed internet connection available (no hardware to buy if you have an ethernet port). Water, sewer, electricity, gas and garbage are all included. Your only additional expense would be a cell phone (I have no land line here, have switched entirely to cell phone, and of course email)

Williams is located north of Sacramento on I-5. It is a small agricultural town (population about 4,500 I think) surrounded by farms growing rice, tomatoes, beans, wheat, corn, garlic, safflower, and other crops. It's about a 55 minute drive to downtown Sacramento, but it's an easy drive. There is virtually no heavy traffic until the last 10 minutes or so. Makes it an easy relaxing commute. I drove the commute for nearly 10 years, and it turned out being my only peaceful moments in a usually hectic day. We have an abundance of fast food (freeway interchange), a couple of good restaurants, doctor, dentist, post office, 2 grocery stores, hardware store, drug store, 3 churches, and several gas stations, mostly all within easy walking distance. It's about a 2 hour drive to the ocean, and about a 2 hour drive to the Sierras and about a 2 hour drive to San Francisco in weekend morning traffic.

Bear in mind, it's a work in progress. Whichever room you may choose will be finished for you to move in, but there will be times when you will have to "work around" work in progress.
